When a song has a universal reach, as does ‘A Million Miles; Remember Me’, and thereby can be related to the human condition, as well as having a haunting melody, sung by an authentic and clearly articulated and warm and sincere voice, that song reaches into the psyche, evokes memories and relation, and becomes an invaluable addition to the meaning of life. What a privilege to hear, to have, and to hold onto! ‘A Million Miles,’ indeed.
I don’t know much about mixing tracks and such but I like the song…open, simple and pure.
You have a very tender quality to your singing voice that invites one into your soul, or so it feels. It is vulnerable, which gives it an honest and heartfelt aspect. In the line “whichever road I took I’d never be alone” I like the way the voice seems to split into two, as a symbol of having another along on life’s journey, even if (especially if) it is one’s Truer Self that travels the Path alongside. Or a Higher Being if one is wont to think in those terms. Or Nature. Or of course, the more traditional thinking of a human life partner. And I like the inherent thought that whichever road is taken, there is no mistake. Also, I really enjoy the Interlude for some reason I can’t quite define. Often I find interludes a little boring and I want to get on with the lyrics, but this one has something special in it.
Justin, this is wonderful. Congratulations you are very talented. John
Sounds great! Very relaxing and for some reason reminds me a bit of Roger Whittaker. Good Stuff!!
Wow! “A Million Miles (Remember Me)” is very dynamic and engaging. I also found the guitar / vocal isolated track quite compelling.
